Are You Ready?

"Ready for what?" you might ask.

How about going to a foreign country halfway around the world spending a week letting Jesus be your hands and your feet and your mouth investing your time in that which is eternal - God's Word and the souls of mankind?

Yes, we know. You may be thinking, "I can't do that…leave the country…take a week off of work or school. I can't _________." How about, instead of worrying about what you can't do, look at what you can do:

You CAN:

• worship with people from another culture who desperately want to know who He is.
  
• make friends and build relationships with complete strangers who look different, talk different and act different, yet welcome you with open arms.
  
• hold a 6-month old baby who's been orphaned at the local hospital because her mother cannot afford to keep her.
  
• give food and water to children living on the street.
  
• bring a smile to the face of a child by giving Christmas gifts and sharing about the "Greatest Gift" - the birth of Jesus.
  
• repair a worn-down roof that leaks in when it rains and heat rushes out when it's cold.
  
• get your hands dirty working on the farm and by helping to build things.
  
• see and experience Jesus working in the hearts of lost souls. 

So, are you ready? Jesus called believers to "go and make disciples" and to "be My witnesses." He didn't wait until His followers were certain or sure or even comfortable. He simply called them to go. Are you feeling led by God to join Him in furthering Christ's Kingdom? Is your Sunday school class, bible study or mini-church group praying about getting involved in international missions?
