Marshall & Marta Greenman
Founders
Marta Greenman, at the time a financial advisor, started her mission service by going on an evangelical church planting campaign to Romania with Global Missions Fellowship in June of 1997. In 1998 she applied and was accepted on staff. From 1997 to 2003, Marta served as Church Planting Coordinator on twenty-seven campaigns to the countries of Peru, Columbia, Venezuela, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Zimbabwe and Mexico. Marta has led women's conferences in many of these countries and has also taught Precept inductive bible studies in the U.S. and abroad for several years.
Marshall Greenman, at the time a dental technology consultant, began his mission service by going on a dental campaign and helping setup dental clinics in two Romanian cities, Braila and Galatz, in June of 1999. From 1999 to 2001, Marshall served on six evangelical church planting campaigns to Romania, two evangelical church planting campaigns to Moldova and one medical/dental campaign to Jamaica.
The Greenmans, who were commissioned by Prestonwood Baptist Church of Plano, Texas, in April 2002, also co-taught and directed a bible study at their church.
Serving in these third world countries, the Greenmans saw the spiritual as well as the physical needs of the people. While serving in Romania, they felt the burden to do more than just go for two weeks out of the year.
In November of 1999, feeling the call to full-time service, Marshall and Marta began a two-year journey to find out how they were to accomplish this vision. During this period they also served with Apartment Life Ministries from November 2000 to April 2002. After considerable spiritual research which included constant prayer, seeking Godly counsel with pastors and talking with several ministries, RUTH Ministries International was started.
