What is the "Greatest Gift" project?
The ?Greatest Gift? project is an annual short term mission campaign that is scheduled in the second week of December. The focus is two fold. First is to deliver shoe box Christmas gifts to children (for many it will be the first gift ever received) in Romania. Second is to have the opportunity to share with children and their parents about the ?Greatest Gift? which is the birth of Jesus Christ and His desire to have a personal relationship with them.
When are the dates of the "Greatest Gift" project?
The dates for the ?Greatest Gift? campaign to Romania are December 7th to the 16th.
How can I get involved?
There are three ways to be involved with the ?Greatest Gift? project. First, you can donate one or more shoe box gifts. Second, join the team that will be going to Romania and delivering the shoe boxes. Third, be a part of the prayer group that will be praying for the project.
I want to donate a gift box. What do I do?
It's easy. Find a shoe box or plastic container of similar size, fill it with gift items (please look at the list of suggested items) and include $7 for each gift box. When you wrap the gift with Christmas wrapping paper, please wrap the top of the box separately. If you want you can include a picture of you/your family and a note to the boy or girl that will be receiving your gift.
What is the $7 for?
The $7 dollars helps defray international shipping costs to Romania and custom fees and transportation needs in Romania.
What do I do with my gift box once it is ready?
If you are in or near the Dallas area we will advise you where the closest drop off point is located. If you are out of the area, or out of state, contact the ministry at 214-557-7478.
I want to donate money for a gift box. How much do I need to send?
The cost of each gift box is $37. $30 will be used toward the gift box which includes the box, gift items and wrapping paper. The $7 will be used for shipping costs. If you want you can include a picture of you/your family and a note to the boy or girl that will be receiving your gift.
When is the deadline for getting my gift box in to RUTH?
The months of July and August are designated for you, your bible study class and/or church to participate. Gift boxes will be received between September 1st and September 8th for international shipment. Gift boxes will continue to be received up to December 1st. All boxes received after September 15th until December 1st will go with the team in December.

How else can I help with the Greatest Gift project?
We need assistance in getting the word out about the ?Greatest Gift? project. Share with your family, friends, bible study group and church about this special campaign. ?Greatest Gift? brochures are available. RUTH staff is available to come on site and talk about the project. We also will need volunteers to help with the shipping and handling of the gift boxes in the fall. Please contact RUTH for details.
